Collins Pettaway, III

Communications Organizer and Strategist

Mr. Collins Pettaway, III is a proud native of Selma, Alabama and a 2007 graduate of Selma High School. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 2011 and a Master of Science degree in Communications Studies specializing in Political Communications in 2018 from the Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical (A&M) University.

 

He is the founder and Senior Consultant of the Pettapull Firm, LLC – specializing in political campaigns, strategic communications, and event marketing and helps with communications and marketing with the Vaughan Regional Medical Center. Additionally, he most recently completed a tour as Partnership Specialist with the United States Census Bureau for the 2020 Decennial Census.

 

Presently, Collins is a member of the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Selma, Alabama where he supervises the Crusaders Ministry and assists with the direction of the Sanctuary Choir and Vocal Ensemble. He also is active in numerous organizations which include but are not limited to: Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated, the Rotary Club of Selma, the Black Belt Young Professionals Coalition, the Dallas County Democratic Executive Committee, the Pride of Alabama Elks Lodge #1170 where he serves as State Chaplain, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America, Incorporated. Additionally, he is the Executive Director of the Selma High School Alumni Association, assistant Chapter Rep of the Southwest Alabama Regional Chapter of the Gospel Music Workshop of America, and he serves on the Board of Directors of the Selma-Dallas County Historic Preservation Society.

 

Mr. Pettaway loves music, baseball, and giving back to the community. In his spare time, he likes to rest, read, write articles for his blog – The Progressive Pundit, and work on his upcoming podcast—The Black Constitution. He is a firm believer in I Corinthians 2:9, “But it is written: Eyes have not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
