Kerry Horton

Manager of Street Outreach

Kerry A. Horton Jr. was born and reared in Selma, AL to Kerry Horton Sr and Aisha Thomas. He graduated from Dallas County High School as a member of the class of 1999 with dreams of attending college to pursue a basketball career on the college level. Once injury sidelined his plans Kerry then began a career in marketing, retail, and sales before joining the Selma Fire Department for 5 years.

Kerry is a husband and father to three daughters all from Selma, and remains active in the community as a teen mentor. Street Outreach has been, and remains a calling that he had to answer to fulfill his assignment to the Queen City

He is the Manager of Street Outreach Services with The Selma Center for Nonviolence, Truth and Reconciliation with a geared focus of uniting the beloved community. He has utilized his platforms as a barber, contractor, and manager for more than 29 years to reach, support, and uplift while developing strategic courses of action to build a better Selma.

Kerry was ordained Pastor in 2012 at New Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Selma, AL and now serves as an Associate Pastor of the House of Prayer Christian Church in the Selmont community.

In his free time he enjoys music, movies, and rest. He loves the outdoors and spends a lot of time hunting, fishing, and enjoying nature.
