As a tenured community college psychology instructor, Ms. Phaer Sanders Bonner has an array of experiences that goes beyond her classroom. Her in-depth credentials began when she served 4 years as the Chairman of the Talladega County's Board of Voting Registration. Her next step led her to become a community service worker in Talladega County. She followed up with Alabama Department of Corrections where she was the on-site mental health professional for 7 years, helping inmates in a maximum security prison. Continuing within the realm of helping others, Ms. Bonner worked as an independent child and family therapist for Shelby County DHR, and she served as Family Readiness Leader for the 135th ESC. As a Fellow to Jefferson State's Enactus, she led the school's organization to garnering top state-level awards, and she also sat on the board of peer review for Substance Abuse Mental Health Administration and Department of Education. Currently, Phaer Sanders Bonner is pursuing certification in behavioral analysis, and well on her way to obtaining her doctorate in psychology from the University of Alabama.
