Our trainings are always made up of local and non-local participants. Selma is working through heavy challenges around violence, poverty, and low wealth, among others. Selma was named the "8th most dangerous city" per capita in the U.S. in 2016 and is located in Dallas County, which has the 3rd highest poverty rate of any county in AL as of 2016. Our hope is that our local participants, as well as non-local, can use this training to develop skills to combat violence in all its forms, from internal violence of the spirit to interpersonal and structural violence.
