Every book is a step toward justice. Every conversation is a seed of transformation.
Introducing the Selma Center Monthly Book Club
A Space to Learn, Reflect, and Lead with Nonviolence
The Selma Center for Nonviolence, Truth, and Reconciliation is proud to launch our Monthly Book Club, a virtual gathering space for deep thinkers, brave learners, and community builders.
As a national training center and beacon of excellence in nonviolence and racial equity, we often receive questions from participants and partners alike: What should I read to keep growing? Where can I go to continue this conversation?
This is our answer.
Each month, we’ll feature a powerful book that explores themes of justice, healing, race, nonviolence, leadership, or transformation. Together, we’ll unpack the key insights, connect them to current events, and reflect on what they mean for our communities and for ourselves. Some months, we may even be joined by guest speakers or authors themselves.
This isn’t just a book club. It’s a space to challenge our thinking, cultivate accountability, and fuel the movement for change.
Come for the book. Stay for the transformation. Let’s read for the world we’re building.
Meets virtually, every 4th Thursday at 11:00 am CST. First meeting August 28th, 2025
